About Me

I am a qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist (Level 7) and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework for good practice. I provide a confidential and professional one-to-one counselling service for adults, young people and children over the age of 11 years. I am also a Consultative Supervisor (Level 7) and provide one to one or group Supervision to counsellors and other professionals.

My counselling practice aims to give you the opportunity to explore your problems, distresses or any difficult situations that you are experiencing in a confidential, non-judgmental, safe and supportive environment.

As a counsellor I feel privileged to be part of your journey and work to facilitate you through your difficulties so that they become more manageable. Working together we can find creative and positive ways forward by looking at your problems from different perspectives to find meaning in your life, and/or help you acquire new skills/techniques to assist you in overcoming the issues you are facing. Problems sometimes go on for a long time and you cannot see a way out of them or they can make you feel out of control, but CHANGE IS POSSIBLE.

How I Work

I am a Relational Integrative Counsellor which means I am able to combine theory and techniques from a variety of major theoretical approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred and Psychodynamic and integrate them into a single approach. This has the advantage of being incredibly flexible and creative in my practice and tailor my work to your specific needs or goals.

Feel free to take a look at client testimonials on my webpage www.thelisteninghelper.co.uk

Qualifications

As a counsellor I also undertake continuous professional development (CPD) to expand and maintain my skills and knowledge.I attend regular Supervision sessions to help develop and focus my practice and ensure that I am working ethically with clients.

Experience

Having established my own private practice I have continuous experience of providing counselling and psychotherapy to children, young people, adults, couples and families to a diverse range of organisations such as Local Authorities (Child and Youth Counsellor/Social Services), GPs/NHS, Charities and Organisations, Employment Assistance Programmes, Businesses, as well as individual clients, couples and family referrals.
