My name is Will and I am a third year Osteopathic Medicine student at Swansea University and will be qualifying in 2019.
Whilst studying for my masters I work as a sports therapist, treating people from low-level sports enthusiasts to professional athletes who all want to return to sports as safely and quickly as possible. I believe one of the reasons I am successful with my patients is my level of training as I am able to utilize level 7 advanced osteopathic techniques that I personally tailor to each individual patient.
I currently work with Aberystwyth RFC and Gowerton RFC where I treat the first teams and U14's, 15's and 16's for any aches, pains, injuries and rehabilitation. I have also worked for Bridgend Ravens as a sports therapist in the Welsh Premiership.
My fascination with the human body inspires me to expand my knowledge every day to maximize patient results. My treatment is not always physical touch, as movement is vital for strength and recovery, which is why I go through a extremely thorough assessment to implement a practical yet effective sports management plan including goal setting, pre/post training plan, treatment schedule and phased return to sport. With careful consideration and management I can increase your chances of returning to sports, reducing the risk of future injury and most importantly enhancing future performance. My treatments include; advanced soft tissue massage, mobilizations, muscle energy techniques, stretching, taping and exercise prescription. These allow me to resolve aches/pain and injuries due to sport.
I am grateful to able to work with so many fantastic individuals in Swansea, and my passion for sports compliments my skills to provide patients with the best care. Its amazing to see my patients overcome their injury’s and get back to what they love!
